The old stables, a unique place for maturing our wines …

The Domaine, Preignes le Vieux was created in 1905 by Mr. Bergon, the grandfather of Jérôme who is the current owner and the fifth generation to take care of this historic place. At that time, animal traction played a central role in agriculture …

There were many stables on the farms. The Preignes le Vieux estate was no exception and the 15 horses of the estate occupied what was once the estate’s stables.

Now completely renovated, this historic site accommodates our breeding containers. 95 Bordeaux barrels of 225 liters, 4 oak casks of 20 hectoliters and 10 sandstone amphorae of 700 l each…. Place of aging of our wines, we wanted it traditional and modern at the same time, but above all very welcoming. Indeed, what could be more pleasant than a tasting in a warm and authentic setting. The tasting mezzanine now occupies the place of the grain reserve for the horses of yesteryear….

Passionate about our profession, we wanted to share with our visitors this almost timeless place where the wines evolve slowly towards their final result and therefore towards your glass.

Discover with us, during the visit of the estate, the different types of breeding that we set up. Amphorae, casks or barrels of different sizes and materials for breeding each with their own particularities.
