OUR NEWS, Subsoiling …

After this dry summer, our soils are very compact despite regular plowing. Now is a good time to use the subsoiler!

This is mechanical work, a fine tooth that goes into the soil and which allows this soil to be “cut” to a depth of about 50cm. The earth is therefore split without being turned over. The goal is to cut all the roots of the vine that would tend to develop horizontally and force them to dive deeper (favor vertical rooting).
This work requires a lot of power. This is why our tractor is fitted with tracks. More surface in contact with the ground means more grip and therefore more pulling power. Another secret is speed. The result is generally better at high speed… 10 km / h on average. And yes, it's a tractor, not a racing car!
